So I'm looking for work.

I must have applied for well over 20 jobs in the last few days (and around 30-40 in the past) in my local town center (only real place i have access to, don't drive).

Anyway,

I'm basically out of ideas. I've gone for all the big names (and small ones!) that have vacancies. And I'm pretty stuck for what to do next.

If the **** really hits the fan there's always McDonald's! but I'd like to give it a week or two before i admit defeat and apply (again!) :p

So any ideas of things i wont find on the high street but may have a web site or something similar?

So far managed to come up with

BT
British Gas

=/

im in the same boat as you man i quit work just before christmas as they said i couldnt have it off to be with my kids

its hard work getting a job atm

Aye,

I just want a part time job. No bothered what I do (within reason! :D). Wage doesnt concern me. I mean ideally however working for a high street fashion/electronics store would be my preference.

Not high street but have you considered B&Q DIY stores, varied work and hours, pay not excellent but no too bad either. :)

I worked in an off license when I was a student. Not amazing, but I used to get staff discount on booze - Ideal when you are a student. :D

Any small building work going on near you? House renovation by 2-3 man work force or even house owner themselves doing renovation or extension work? Small 2-3 man teams often want a bit of extra help labour wise for short time periods and will pay cash in hand... :)

I'm useless at that kind of stuff, but I'll keep an eye out.

Just looking through jobs on job center plus website and my oh my electricians don't half earn a bit of money! always thought it was pretty low but I've seen in excess of £15p/h!

Now if only that kind of thing interest me enough to train in it :)

Don't bother! I've spent 3 years in college training to become an electrician (and i'm about to start more courses).
However I cannot find anyone willing to give me practicle experience, must have applied to over 100 companys, still looking. Loads of people in the same boat. Would never have started if I knew it would be this hard to find experience. People are even offering to work for free with no results.

there must be some bar work? hotel work? store assistent? trainee job which lead to carrer prospects etc

even just something like the above untill you find a job in a electronics store etc, nothing stopping you looking for a new job whilst you are starting a job

Oh don't worry I'm not being picky. I would go for any of the above if i could :( I've literally applied for every suitable job I've seen and just can't get anywhere. Very frustrating!
