I've never had an interview for a job I've applied for, however, I have received lots of specs because my CV is posted on the above.

If you do post your CV make mino changes every couple of weeks, it alerts the recruiters to changes and puts your CV to the top of their pile. They ahve no idea that it's a minor change since they won't remember seeing it before.

Try looking at small, independent IT agencies - they can be a godsend in helping you find the right joib. Its important to pick the m carefully, though, so make sure you have a face-to-face meeting to guage whether they're right for you.

The thing I have noticed with these sites is that you go to the trouble of tailoring your CV and cover letter and you don't any replies. The best bet would be to contact the agencies advertising the positions and speak with them.

I'm not sure how they do this but if you make any changes to your CV you usually get a whole host of phone calls. When I wasn't looking for a job, I need to pull down a copy of my CV, (I think it was monster) I immediately got several phone calls.

I would also recommend linkedin. It's useful not only for a business sense but also makes job hunting easy. (www.linkedin.com)
