I live <10 miles from OCUK and my 3 bed detached house in a nice quiet cul-de-sac on the fields cost £112,500 in May 2013.

I know it might not seem like a huge salary (I am not in the IT sector either) but when a terraced house in the rough part (Hanley - Postcode ST1) can be had for £35,000 it gives you can idea of living costs.
