Jobs from home

I seriously doubt you can make 2k a month working from home, part time, fixing PC's...

Agreed. Might still be worth pursuing with more modest goals in mind, perhaps also covering mobile devices (based on what I see on local social media, people are smashing their iPhone screens every day and want them replaced).

[Un]fortunately PC software problems are seemingly less commonplace nowadays, as Windows has got a lot more robust, virus/security software etc is more commonly used etc, more reliable/simplier plug'n'play etc, alongside Joe Public generally having more of a basic understanding of technology so less likely to need help for trivial tasks like installing software/hardware. There is also a trend towards mobile so the days when every home used a desktop PC are fading away. PCs/laptops for general use are also a lot cheaper than they used to be so some people may just replace old kit rather than pay someone a small fortune to patch it up.

Some of what you say is correct (I have visited 100 of different homes in the last few years) I get as much private work as I want to do (2/3 jobs a day usually remember its part time) just about every home as tablet + laptop + desktop pc, people are more than willing to pay be 45 to install their new pc, or wireless printer or set up their email / devirus / fix their broadband. (I get a fair percent of work delivered to me)

Dont underestimate the profit to be made...

OP for some reason does not want to this easy cash how about...

Ah, my daughter does part time cake making.. Makes about 45 a cake, but I don't know how long each one takes her...

sql is massively in demand and this takes days to master - you can get paid more in a few days than working a full week.

:) It took me a few days - most people struggle with the logical side of things. Compared to Jav/.net its a doddle

Interesting read, few questions as interested in doing this myself! If you wouldn't mind... :)

Do you also work full time?
How much extra income a month does this net you?
Are you registered self-employed with HMRC?
Have you knocked up some business cards to hand out?
Do you have Public Liability Insurance just in case?
Do you use a separate business/personal bank account?

Sorry - curious how serious I should get with this. :p
