John Bishops Britain, is it me or are BBC scraping the Barrel?

Personally found a lot of BBC "comedy" to be more miss then hit, most of BBC3 is awful with the worst being "Lee Nelsons well good show".

I'm a little bit confused as to why the BBC would consider cutting BBC4 over BBC3.

Lee nelson was so well good, he got himself a second series, but then bbc three have always been odd in their choice of humour. Two pints of **** poor jokes and a packet of burst condoms, getting renewed over and over being one example.

BBC4 is a higher number you see. I would just integrate them if it was me.

Anyway I went to see John bishop live and he was great, watching these JBsB though and it's quite **** with most of the jokes being repeated from the live tour. I think he got lazy and thought he could use the jokes from a 90 minute stand up show over two whole series. Everything remotely funny is repeated.

if you really want scraping the barrel, how about the other night on bbc2, an hour and a half, of a documentary about the 40th world irish dancing championships.. Or the fact that they are now in the habit of doing 6 episode runs of a show, with the sixth episode being a "compilation of the best and unseen bits of season..." when really, its not..

BBC3 is aimed at teenagers and is really rather popular in that demographic. That's why BBC4 is up for the chop - it's simply not as popular as BBC3.

It's a common complaint saying that BBC3 is rubbish but to be honest most of its content is not really aimed at anyone over 21...

I actually like it, along with Russell Howards Good News, but TV in general is going downhill. Just look at the cartoons, how can you compare Thundercats with Spongebob? They just relaunched a load of cartoons in an anime style, I know Thundercats is one of them, along with Iron Man and Wolverine. But compared to the original 80's/early 90's cartoons, they're terrible

I think its very poor quality comedy. Have we really so little comedy talent in this country?

We have tonnes of great comedians in this country. But yes, John Bishop is not one of them.

I think they put him on tv to keep the northerners happy. :p
