John Mayer - Continuum

Just got his new album and I'm disappointed.

I'll be the first to admit that his previous albums (which I really like) are a little 'pop', but there is some really good songwriting going on.

The new album takes everything I dislike about Jack Johnson's music and puts it on a John Mayer album! (ie boring, lifeless, simple songs made to sell to the masses).

If you like boring laid-back blues, this album might be good for you, but those that want interesting and dynamic music, stick with his previous stuff.

I liked some of his older stuff, 3x5 and BIgger than my Body especially.

Doesn't sound like i'll be getting this new one though...

You're right.. he really is "going through the numbers" on this one. Not good, not the quality I've expected from him. The first full album, Room for Squares, is still the best in my opinion.
