John O'Callaghan - Essential mix 12/07/08

Finally got around to listening to this essential mix.

It's horrible :( The track selection is quite nice, but it was mixed in Ableton and it just sounds so flat. It's like one continuous beat and the vocals change.

17. Timmy & Tommy - Full Tiltin (Joint Operations Centre Remix) [Fult Tilt Records]

I'm so late with this it's comical, but I'd just like to say this track is an absolute belter. Only just heard it! :o

Can anyone recommend any similar tunes? It's quite slow and fairly basic but it must tear up dance floors.

Tougher is good, I am a fan of 'they always come back' but have heard it a lot as it was caned this summer. Wondered if there had been anything come out lately that I've missed as I don't seem to keep abreast of current releases as much as I used to.

Sander was better than Marco imo, but they both played quality sets. Was a brilliant night all round.

O'Bir, Marco, Sander and JOC all smashed it, shame MORPH and Eyden are absolutely disgraceful DJ's. Can't mix for toffee.

I've had better nights if I'm honest. All the tracks started to sound the same after the first 3 hours. And the sound engineer needs to be shot in the face. WAAAAAAAY too much treble. Thank **** for earplugs.

That venue is a complete hole too :( I know I'll have a better time at Godskitchen on 21/03 :D

Be glad you didn't go to Emery's Podcast Party, man, there was some serious treble bashing in there. Couldn't hear properly the day after.

I can't wait for Gods on 21/3. Get my Anjuna fix!

Shame my Sia bootleg takes a massive steaming turd on yours ;):p:cool:

OK, Sia - TGYLTC is a quality tune, i'm certain we both agree on that.

Now how do you make a quality tune better? Shove a load of gay male vocals on top or stick a massive filthy bassline on top?

Bit of a no no brainer really! Filthy bassline everytime

I haven't shoved a load of gay male vocals over the top. The male vocals are only in 2 parts of the tunes. I've added a meatier bassline too! The proof is in the pudding sunshine, ha ;)

We have vastly different opinions when it comes to trance anyway, you seem to like really heavy techy carp, whereas I don't tend to go for that sort of stuff mainly.

So, to summarise, my mix > your mix! lol  /Willy waving

Disclaimer : This is my opinion only.

Yeah we do have pretty different tastes, i'm not a fan of the cheesey, could easily be passed as pop music, trance ;)

Disclaimer : This is not just my opinion but fact
