John wick - A step to far

OP should watch God Bless America.

I've seen it, and although I still think there is a difference between tatical shots to the head, and "comedy" violence, films today are getting more and more graphic regardless. Like women of the pasts "nothing above the knee" to today's bikini, what the hell will cinema of the future be like, 3d brains splattering across your face?

What gets me is the "revenge" on one man, I must murder 50 people who are just doing a job,
FFS, are you serious? can't wait to hear you go on about all the innocent workers who were obliterated on the Death Stars....

but it's the headshots that make it worse. It's sadistically chilling in comparison to easily ignored stupid spray and pray action heroes, whose skill comes mostly from Hollywood fake reality. John Wick to me is almost like watching a snuff film.

no, it's entirely sensible in the film's universe. he's trained to kill fast, and make sure that person is dead so they can't be of further threat. and putting a quick bullet in someone's head is faster and more humane that shooting them in the torso and.

As mentioned they weren't normal security guys he was cutting through like butter, they were hired henchmen of some Russian crime lord. Yes the constant face shots were graphic but that dog was cute dammit and the car was sexy.

The 'main' action scene where Reeves storms that club and takes down a series of bad guys is not at all realistic.
The techniques he's using are. I also liked how he is fairly no-nonsense with killing them... but then the script has him take moments out to do unrealistic things, for the sake of making the scene more interesting.
When a target is hit but not eliminated or even porperly downed, you really shouldn't waste time fiddling about grabbing spare magazines and reloading, when there's a ton of alternative weaponry to hand that would simply kill them outright and then let you sort your firearm(s) out without being under immediate threat.

He was also pretty wasteful with the double and triple-taps, when he's shooting from 6" away... If you can kiss your target, you can certainly put one directly through their skull and save ammo.

What gets me is the "revenge" on one man, I must murder 50 people who are just doing a job,
In order to get revenge, he must kill Theon Greyjoy.
In order to get to Theon, he must kill a bunch of people.
In doing this, he will anger Theon's dad, which will mean that bunch of people and a bunch more will either try to stop him and/or come after him once Theon is dead. The more he kills now, the less he has to deal with later.

If that happened to my dog and I possessed the skills of Mr Wick, I'd do the same as him.
Even if not, I might still give it a go...

A great balance of cheese and action. The fact that he's not perfect, get's knocked around and has to stop to reload adds a bit of "realism".

I loved it, great film.

Damn straight! A dog is a man's best friend. It is loyal, it doesn't connive or stab you in the back in so many ways like so many people.

The fact that it was the last remaining thing that his wife gave him before she died broke him. It wasn't the 'dog' per se, but the fact the dog links him to his dead wife and that link is broken. He has nothing left and he's empty inside. So **** everyone and kill them all
