.You might want to check out the Army Air Corps. http://www.army.mod.uk/aac/recruiting/soldier_career.htm
REME actually if he wants to fix the things
AAC if you want to arm, refuel or fly them

Basically the application process goes like this(Very Basic terms of course)
Chat at local AFCO > Application Papers filled out > BARB test and Basic English and Maths test ? > Medical > Interview > Internal Admin stuff(You won't know anything about it) > 2 day Selection course(will probably include TST(Technical Selection Test) Seen as you're looking at an engineering job > 2nd Interview & confirmation of job choices > Star Basic training.
You mist out the Medical after the barb, And also there is no Maths and English as far as im aware! the barb is just a test to see how quick you are at learning and how expandable you will be, no english or math in it though, its all shapes and sizes.
lol.Oh yeah medical form, forgot about thatlol.
But the Basic English and Math tests were there when I sat my BARB this time round(around 6 months ago). Just to note, it is completely separate from the barb,
