Joomla Install Help

Just trying to reinstall Joomla on my hosting, but come across a problem on the install:

Not the configuration error, but the one below it.

And here's the directory of the install:

Never come across an installation error, so i'm not really sure what it means

Looks like some sort of permissions problem. Are you installing using the root user?

I'm using the admin FTP login details that PurpleCloud gave me? Not 100% sure what you mean though

Go into your FTP, find configuration.php, right click and change the CHMOD to 0777. I think that's right?

that would solve the configuration.php unwritable error, but not the session path error

DO you have telnet/ ssh access to the server?
