Tragic outcome and horrendous for his family but what the hell was he thinking? A heavy price to pay for a moment of stupidity but the speeds being reported are absolutely mental and my sympathy levels reduce somewhat.

Lots of outpouring of what a great nice bloke etc but driving like that, especially with others in the car is ridiculous.

Have to agree with the above, considering he killed someone else with another seriously injured, the sympathy levels have taken a nose dive.

At the time, I didn't know anything other than he was in a car crash. How it happened was only brought to my attention when I saw his Spanish team mate, Santiago Canizares, say that he didn't deserve all the messages calling him 'a hero', because his death and the death of another person in the car was caused by his own reckless driving.

I guess all the outpouring of support calling him 'a hero' is understandable, as that was more than likely when people knew nothing other than him being involved in a car crash.
