joypads for pc

Do you think that i should get a pc joypad or a Joypad Converter for Playstation to USB PC?

i can't decide i've never used a pc joypad for gameing wheras ive used playstation. is a ps joypad very compatible for gaming on pc games?

Do retail shops sell usb-joypad links?
i don't want to wait 2 or 3 days until it arrives from the post if i were to buy online.

I guess i'll have to get more opinions on this topic before i decide on what is the best item to get.
either an xbox 360 pad/pc pad or an converter, i already have ps1 and 2 joypad so thats fine.

if the ps joypads dont lag then i might get the converter. are there types of converters that i should stay away from?
