Joystick for BF3

I would wait to see what the BF3 flight mechanics are like first, if they are anything like BC2 I wouldn't bother with a stick.

Going to use my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Used the same for BF2 but it broke last year and Logitech sent me a new one. Still in the box waiting.

I had a previous version of that joystick for BF2, but I was crap at flying jets and using the mouse for flying choppers made it a bit more manoeuvrable than with the joystick.

I still might get one though.

That's if I buy the game at all, the BF3 alpha aint floating my boat at the moment.

What type of joystick will you be using for BF3 jets and choppers.

For Bf2 i used my Force feedback 2,great joystick but getting old now so i fancy this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GC-053-SK&groupid=702&catid=288&subcat=352

Got a 360 pad for pc but allways liked the feel for a proper stick when flying jets in the battlefield series...

I would avoid that stick personally, having owned one, there is too much of a deadzone. There is quite a lot of play where the actual shaft (:p) meets the base, so making fine adjustments to your plane/helicopter is tricky. Its not accurate.

You can get a Thrustmaster T.16000M for close to the same price and it blows the cyborg out the water.

Looking at bf3 at the moment i wouldn't be surprised if the 'jets' are just a 1 map trick pony to get the bf2 vets to buy it.

Well there is going to be Gulf of Oman,Sharqi Peninsula(choppers)Wake Island DLC remakes plus there will be totally new airmaps i wont be worried thats its going to 1 map trick pony:)

Thanks for the suggestion. I was looking into a new stick for BF3 also.

Raven in another unhelpful post shocker!

They still haven't fixed the flight controls for the helicopters in Bad Company 2. i had to Resort to editing the config file directly. Weirdly the controls for the UAV and the helicopters are different, and it's almost impossible to get a set that works for both.

Takes a while to get used to it. Find an empty server with a map that contains a chopper, and practice.

As everyone else i am hoping for some old school BF choppering... Dunno if i prefered the insane agility in DC or the more realistic feel of BF2... Have never really tried the choppers in bc2 were they that bad?

I would wait a few months after release - chances of getting a heli or jet ahead of the 50 people waiting around will be so remote you'll curse yourself for spending the money!

Aye your not wrong there, like flys round poo all waiting holding downt he E key to get in first and when you do everybody else stands infront of jets so you get the TK :( BF2 the people with the fastest pc's got the cream with loading in first. my force feedback 2 joystick worked wonders in bf2 for jets and choppers, not so good in bad company on the choppers though.
