hmm i'll ask about it. Just mental that 6 months ago i was on 18k and saving 300 a month down to nothing, not even being able to feed myself

£400 at a max aint that bad considering where abouts in the UK you live.

Working tax credits are available, but you must work a "full-time" job which is at least 30hrs a week.

These top up income, created so that people decide to work the 30hrs a week (even if its at minimum wage) rather than stay on the dole.

you have 2 different ways of claiming.
1/ contribution based which lasts 6 months
2/ income based which starts after your contribution based claim stops.

Yeah you just have to reapply, go over your "agreement" etc.

you'll want your stamp paid as without stamp for last 2 years (full) you will not be able to get JSA etc.

Oh right thats good to know! I should read things properly!

Ive got an assesment day with British gas next week so i'm hoping i wont be in the crap for too much longer! Fingers crossed!

Have a look on the british gas website. I applied last Friday night, passed a telephone interview yesterday and on the next stage now. They want 2600 new smart energy experts and train you up no matter what qualifications you have.

WTC isn't applicable unless you're aged 25 or over.

You will not be able to cliam Housing Benefit as you are renting from a close relative. They will probably knock you back for it being a non-comercial agreement. I.e would your parents kick you out for not paying your 'board'.

That is correct. The OP didn't reveal their age and so its worth them reading.

His JSA is £50.90 a week therefore he can't be 25, as the JSA rate increases to £64.30 at that age
