right im building a new computer and just wanted to double check everything fits perfect :)

case will be :Antec 1200 Twelve Hundred (V3 with USB3.0) Ultimate Gaming Case - Black

psu is: Hiper 580W HPU-4M580 SLi Certified ATX2.2 Power Supply

motherboard:Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 AMD 880G (AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard [GA 880GM-USB3]

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail [HDZ955FBGMBOX]
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-244-AM&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1943

Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit (BL3KIT51264BA160A) [BL3KIT51264BA160A]

os will be windows 7 :) if anyone would please help and if you have anyother suggestion for a diffrent graphics card? i want one about £80-£120 which is decent to run most new games top spec

Many thanks

where to start.... i would switch around just about everything to be honest

PSU: i would change the PSU to anything by Antec, corsair, seasonic, XFX or OCZ. well, unless you want to become a member of the hiper explosive club

processor: the i3 2100 beats the phenom II quad in pretty much every area: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/88?vs=289

motherboard: for the money thats a half decent board youve chosen, but if your going for the intel processor you'll need a different board, such as the MSI H67MA-E35

RAM: both the phenom processors and the intel sandybridge processors use dual channel RAM, so you'll want something like this: Corsair XMS3 8GB

case: the antec 1200 is very outdated, you can get ahell of a lot better for the money than the antec 1200. the obvious recommendations are any of the silverstone ravens, the coolermaster HAF X and the corsair 650D. if you are planning on proper watercooling then the silverstone is pants, but if your going to be air cooling then its the best of the lot. however, if your spending £130 odd on a case than i'd choose the one you like the best

for the graphics card i'd recommend the HIS 6870. its £12 over budget, but you get Dirt 3 and Deus X for free, which should make up the price difference :)
6870 vs 460: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/290?vs=313

i also would change most of that -sorry

i would pick an efficient 750w+ psu
a powersupply will only use what is needed but is more efficent when you use around 55-80% of its total wattage.

keep the processor, its fine - i have the phenom x6 - very good at multitasking whilst gaming.

case - i would definatly recommend the haf 922 - it is short but long and wide and does allow watercooling. If you would prefer a taller case but thinner and not as a wide, then take the haf 932.
reaper 392 recommended the hafx. no. it is too big, the smaller models will fit watercooling and multiple gfx cards anyway, so the haf x is pointless and a lot more expensive
the haf 922 will fit anything, it is at mid tower due to it being short, but the interior is bigger than most full towers.

ram - unless your doing extreme 3d work then you dont need over 8gb of ram. you will get the best results with 8 than you would with 12, if you are gaming.
i would recommend the corsair vengeance 8gb

gfx card. i would have to go with what reaper recommended for the gfx card - the 6870.

motherboard - Asus M5A97

ahh wicked :D thanks guys the only reason i have gone with that case and power suply is because thats what i currently have, but my computer at the moment is a bit outdated but wanted to cut costs a bit so i dont really need a new case is more my concern that everything would fit in :)

if you already have the antec 1200 it will be fine, think the guys were under the impression you were thinking of buying it so recommended better options :).

ahh wicked im so confused :( still though. I dont know wether to get amd or an intel i want something that if it goes out of date i can just replace certain parts

both the amd (via the am3+ socket) and the inter (1155 socket) are the latest ones for both, 1155 being the newest and possible changes happening on amd when their new processor is released.

what budget are you working to, what do you already have and what do you need speccing, also what games are you looking to play.

check out the link reaper put up about the processor comparisons.

yeah intel seems to change the most i just want a computer thats going to last and stay current without spending to much im looking at about £400 ish for

Graphics card
Processor
Ram
Motherboard
PSU (looks like i need one as mines rubbish)

yeah i was looking at them intel seems to be way better but there expensive plus i want a fairly current motherboard so it wont grow old to quick.

Your PSU is not the best, but it is adequate, would not try anything too drastic with it, no running 2 gfx cards or anything, but keep it on your upgrade to do list.

But £400
2500k - £156 (today only)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-360-IN
6850 - £115
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-253-SP
z68 mobo - £76
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-346-GI
8gb ddr3 - £44
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-300-CS

all in at £402 inc postage

This is a good system, upgrade route would be better cooler for overclocking and new powersupply for piece of mind. But these things do not need to be done straight away.

so if i was to stick with my psu for a bit then change it a bit later? would i have any problems as its only 580w? im wont be planning on running 2 graphics cards either :)

ah sweet many thanks for your help guys im gonan take the best bits from what everyones suggested so this is what ive chosen hopfulyl it all works together, ill keep my current antec case and my 580w psu as there both okay and ill most probably upgrade the psu a bit later? maybe buy a 650w or 750w?

if you look at the link to the hiper explosive club you'll see that changing your PSU now would be a very good idea. depending on how much you have to spend, i'd go for any of the following:
1 x OCZ Z-Series 850W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £94.99
1 x Antec TruePower New Modular 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £64.98
1 x Antec TruePower New Modular 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £59.99
1 x Lepa W-Series 500W '80 Plus' Power Supply £46.99

also, i didnt realise you already had the case + PSU. i would keep the case: it might not be as good as the raven, but its still half decent

for the motherboard if you are intent on going the AM3+ route, then i would take the Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 as it can do crossfire and SLI at speeds that wont bottleneck the card (x8/x8). however, if your going the intel route then the obvious choice is the Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 for the same reasons as the AM3+ board, but also because it has all the goodies of the Z68 chipset.

for the RAM i really wouldnt take the vengance because its heatspreaders are very tall, and will get in the way of the majority of coolers. corsair XMS3, kingston and crucial are the best ones to go for, with Gskill ripjaw being kind of ok.

i want a mother board that has 1 x Optical S/PDIF out and the surround sound 6 x Audio jack's and loads of usb ports 4 ram slots just in case, and fairly new i dont know much technical spec :(
