Juice Plus......

My Facebook is the same, full of people selling it and showing supposed before and after pictures of amazing weighloss due to it. Its a mass pyramid scheme. There was a juice plus conference in Bury the other day and it was cult-like in the way it was ran judging by the copious amounts of pictures uploaded to Facebook, with people claiming they will be on 140k soon enough.

Of course you are going to lose weight if you replace your meals with shakes and decide to actually add exercise into your life for once. You don't need to spend £20+ per month on magic beans.

O.J Simpsons endorsement was solid!

University of California Berkeley Wellness Letter[25] and MLMWatch[2] also commented on the unreliability of Juice Plus testimonials provided by former professional athlete O.J. Simpson. Simpson, known commonly as "O.J." and "The Juice",[71] signed a multi-year six-figure contract with NSA in January 1994 and became an official celebrity endorser of Juice Plus. In March 1994, Simpson was videotaped telling 4,000 Juice Plus distributors at a sales meeting that the product had cured his arthritis, improved his golf game, and freed him from using anti-arthritic drugs.[2][72][73][74] However, regarding the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman, for which Simpson was tried and acquitted, Simpson claimed in his defence that he was too incapacitated by arthritis to have committed the murders[2][25] and had continued to take the anti-inflammatory drug sulfasalazine.[2][75][76][77][78] As a result of the controversy surrounding Simpson, NSA cancelled his endorsement contract and stopped using the Simpson videotape to promote Juice Plus.[24][25]

Yeh we must be in the same area as mine was full of people harping on about an event in Bury and one in Bolton.

It's all very weird.

My misses has done it. Worked for her.

It’s not a complicated method and there’s been other around before it, you can also do it yourself. Its literally calorie management and the shake contain all the recommended daily stuff in it so your getting as much healthy stuff in while still trying to consume less.

It only works as well as you follow the instructions tbh. Added bonus with the shakes is that you don't feel hungry to much as you go through the changes to your metabolism since they are pretty filling.

The misses swopped out semi skimmed for rice milk which has less fat and calories, I'd make her shakes on a morning (150ml rice milk, scoop of powder choc/vanilla flavour and a chopped banana then blend it, usually get just less than a pint) this would see her until dinner time and she'd have another for dinner, then a meal in the evening. After so long you only have 1 shake in the morning and 2 meals, by this time your stomach has shrank and your usually in a healthy eating type mode.

Pretty simple stuff but does work if you’re willing to stick to it. She did say she got a bit sick of having it after a month or so as there isn't a massive difference in powder flavour and no matter what you do you can't kick the taste regardless of what fruit you use. Tastes ok too.

She lost nearly 2 stone over the course of it IIRC, but at a more natural none turn your life upside down to get thin rate

Added bonus too, if your train while drinking it, it acts as a toning supplement.

Edit: Shes sort of a middle man seller for it too now, the whole sales pitch of it is very OTT and Americanized but I think its largely to mask the fact that the same results can be achived by good calorie management and suppliment tablets with a splash of tredmill each week. And its one of those annoying get fit fads on facebook... Like the 'she squats bro' movement currently in the USA, gyms are opening up literally with a squat rack and kettle bells.

Good luck!

Fortunately no-one on my Facebook has mentioned this so the first I've heard of it is here ...

Surely the only "+" for juice should be some form of alcohol, e.g. vodka + orange juice?

Its the usual MLM scheme

see vemma too - same retards get suckered into buying overpriced/expensive products and get excited by the idea they can run a 'business' at the same time...

If you're a complete sucker and are clueless about anything business related then you'll likely fit right in....

It works like the avon scheme (Commission). *****. Your obviously well versed in the know it all methodology so I'll keep shut on the resell of the product.

I agree to a certain extent that its a bit of jip, as you can achieve the same by being a bit more diligent on your food intake and so forth but regardless of how you get to the body imagine you desire the notion of value is relative to that person. If you need to spend £300 running trainers to push you that bit further then so be it, debatable in necessity from a physical stand point, but the mental impact makes the difference.

Rubbish a paticular product as much as you want, but to identify people as idiots because they have a goal and need something to help them get to it is a terribley close minded attitude.

I'm not identifying people as idiots because they have a 'goal and need something' I'm identifying people as idiots because they've taken part in an MLM scheme.

I do wonder, if social media didn't exist would she/they have done this? As it seems the whole purpose behind it is for solely posting photos.

Yet I'm sure there's plenty of people out there doing it other ways to slim down and get fit but don't need to show/tell the world.

Seems nearly everything is done now for ego freaks.

You don't have to become a seller to use it.

Granted legitimacy of schemes like this are generally widely criticized and I largely agree with it, but the particular 'scheme' she goes through is a referral/commission basis. No one expects to be a millionaire out of this, nor has she bought a container full of it to sell on. As you’re a business wiz you’ll also know the old saying of “The art of good business is being a good middle man”.

Please, continue you with wise opinions without questioning the case, it’s easy to write something off after a quick google, as you know your clearly quite good at it. I bet you get this all the time but, keep your smart arse opinions to yourself next time.

We got married in Dec, so the motivation of it was largely that. I highly doubt Juice+ would have been a factor in it without social media. Before this it was boot camps, as said the 'squat' scene is in USA and it'll get here eventually. The show/tell aspect I don't understand at all, I get people like gratification all I can think of is because our world of the Internet and social media allows that greatly now. The only time I've seen the wife do it was when specifically asked by a boot camp trainer who was starting out.

If you want people to keep opinions you don't like to themselves then I might suggest that exposing yourself to an internet forum is a bit of a silly idea. I'll voice my opinion freely thanks and I really don't care whether you personally like it or not... quite frankly BS like this and people who promote it ought to be criticised.
