Well not really, more like photo London.

I'm arranging to go visit a mate in London next month and it'll be the first time I'll have a decent camera with me so I'll be able to take some shots that I couldn't with either my mobile or compact digital camera.

I'll probably be using my 18 - 55 mm kit lens for most shots but I'm hoping i can use my new 70 - 300 mm lens at some point as well.

Mainly using it for Architecture photography but may venture into some candid street shots if the opportunity arises.

Will be planning on going around some of the touristy places e.g. St Pauls, Millennium Dome / Bridge, Swiss Re, Lloyds etc but armed with my phones street map are there any other notable sites that would make for a good photographic opportunity.

P.S Could even have a photo meet up if anyones in and around London :p

nice one, will let you know nearer the time where I'll be. still got to book hotel and crap but that shouldn't be a prob. been in a few places on previous visits. normally get one somewhere close to the tube for easy access to places. :)

well just found out I cant go to london next month as my passport has expired and dont fancy a 10 and a half hour train journey down.

Will probably rearrange something for summer time though.

Have you not got a drivers licence? you just need some form of photo id for internal flights

seriously? thought you still needed to produce your passport.....then again my drivers license it the old paper one. not got the photo id

EDIT: Just checked online and it looks like that most airlines require a passport so doubt if that would work

I'm jumping London this week, will be in and around places on Thursday if anyone wishes to meet up!

If not then I'll be the touristy looking guy with the Lowpro Slingshot and Tripod in hand! :D

Weatherwise its looking to be ok with possibility of showers so hoping to get some decent shots of the city.

So you're there on Thursday now?

If I wasn't working I would have joined you. No plans to do it next month as well?

We should do a London meet though, a proper planned one, photos in the morning, nice pub lunch, photos in the afternoon, then some more drinks before we all go home.

this is my last week off before christmas hols so next month would be out for me I'm afraid. its nice of you to offer to buy us all lunch and a few drinks though. are you sure helen wouldn't get jealous though :p

Helen doesn't exist ;)

I feel the need to now convince her to do a photoshoot with Hovis on her head now!

Who wants to take the lead and try and get something in place? I imagine a seperate thread would get more interest, then it's just a case of getting some dates agreed and deciding what we do and where to go :)

Would be a nice day out I think, and a good learning experience for all :)

Those kind of shots are limited to camera phones and are strictly for private.....use! ahem!

Anyway, London meet? I reckon we could get some good numbers together. I know London, but not well enough to dictate places to visit for a whole day. It would be nice to get away from the norm, visit some less touristy places, get some nice street candids, and if I can muster up the balls to ask people for some posed street portraits, perhaps someone would be kind enough to hold a flash off to one side for me? :)
