Lately my 360 has been jumpy and pausing a lot. (like its slowing down and not coping with the game, like a PC would when too many things happen on screen)

During gameplay but also when on loading screens as well. (Can't think of any real examples, but just downloaded Black-somthing Area 51 demo and its jumpy to a point where its unplayable)

Should this be a concern, or does this happen often with them and im just noticing it now as am playing on it a bit more?

Cheers.

I get jumpy when I havent had enough sleep...

But I hear this kinda thing happens when your console is on its way out.

So this has never happened to you?

Will its under Warranty till Dec 07, so i've got some time to replace it.

Not to me no, but from what i've read on 'my xbox 360 died' threads they say it starts freezing and becoming unstable before getting the 3 red lights.

But it could be a problem with your HDD i guess. Maybe give xbox support a ring if you can state some kind of examples.

Great, its certainly more jumpy than usual, and i've treated it perfectly since purchase.

Well i'll get a more serious stance about it when it gets closer to the warranty running out, atm i play very rarely, trying to play more though, so will do my best to hammer it over the summer and take it back with a month to go and say its broken!

Any way of extending the warranty after purchase through M$?

My 360 suffered from this before dying back in December 2006, the new one I got in return is still working fine.

How long did it last from when you first noticed it?

Was it like i said, a PC struggling to keep up?

Was it more prone in certain games or was it random?

Cheers.

It was like skipping frames and generally running like a PC struggling, even on FMV sequences. Wasn't random, more constant!

I can't remember what other games it happened in but I was playing DOA4 lots then, and it happened constantly and ended up freezing.

It gave me red rings after a day of doing the above.

This has been doing it for about the last 5-6 times i've played, which span about 3 weeks tbh.

Will get the thing played more in the next couple of weeks and see what if anything happens.

maybe its struggling in the higher heat, getting warmer each day, even here in Whitley Bay its sunny!

You could just cover the vents on purpose and make it overheat, I know my friend on Xbox Live did that. Covered by warranty of course.
(He was banned from Live, unopened console, took it back and got a replacement), tehe.
