Well I cant find one doing 2 searches under "DirectX" & "9.0c" which would be the most common sense thing to write a forum title on the matter.

Only found it by doing a search on "June" although a search doing "direct" would have found it.

The version I have linked is dated 26th June 2007:- http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...67-d926-463b-99e8-27199d6626b5&DisplayLang=en which is later than the thread was posted, so I guess this is more newer.

I didnt realise I had left it so long but my last DirectX is dated Dec 05

Is it worth it?
What does it really do?
Any major improvements?
If not I will just wait till some game needs it - they ussually come bundled with it

Yes it can fix problems and add new features etc.

I've just updated the Direct X to this latest one and now im having problems with IE7 and a few other programs as they keep on crashing after intermittent amounts of time..

For example. I was using IE7 for about 20 mins and then it came up with an error saying the program had to be shut down.

Ive rebooted the machine several times and it still crashes intermittently.. and its only started doin this since i installed the new direct x drivers..

I've installed the new drivers & have no problems whatsoever using IE7 this is with Windows XP SP2, no problem with games either - some graphical glitches have disapeared in EverQuest for me.

well unluckily for you that's just a coincidence. there is no way a directx update would cause the problems you are having.

Yes it can fix problems and add new features etc.

This is Microsoft we're talking about, if anything it probably causes more problems and unfixes fixed things
