Junk-mail tip postman faces sack

I expect it is in his contract. Interfering in a companies business whilst being employed by them will result in a sacking in almost every single case. Anything that could lose the company earnings or lower there image will be against his contract weaver done in his own time or not.
Actually I suppose you are right. It just seems a bit unfair to me that you can be punished for things you do outside of your job.

I like junk mail :D

Its always got some catalogue or something slightly interesting to look at :)

I hate Junk mail in email form though :(

Rule of thumb for myself and my family is to find any junk mail with a pre-paid envelope, neatly fold up all the other junk mail and send it all back to the buggers.

agreed. all my unsolicited mail goes back into the mail box.

Haha some person on GMTV just got owned (the only word to use here). He was saying that people shouldn't cancel the junk mail, as thats what the Royal Mail and the government use to circulate information. So the guy presenter says are you threatening us, so he got all defensive saying no I'm saying that we use them and says that we can't decide what people want. So the woman said that the government should address them as they know where we live.

They have a good point you can't group junk mail with necessary information.

I hate delivering junk mail but we get paid extra to do it. Royal Mail's door to door contract is increasing all of the time. If I'm right we only delivered something like 3 door to door items per week and now it is unlimited although the union are trying to fight this.
Everyone should call their post office and ask that no door to door items be delivered to them. They are a pain in the ass and every postie hates the sight of them :D

I've signed up for loads of junk mail now I have an open fire.

Always useful to have some firelighter paper around. :p

Think of the trees . I wonder how many requests they've had since that man gave out the address? I personally don't see how junk mail/E-Mail makes it money, who actually goes through it all and think "I could do with of that!" ?

Out of interest how much extra do you get paid? When I get leaflets to deliver when doing my paperound I usually get an extra £2 for about 200  . What's even more annoying is they're always the same leaflets (Blinds, Wicks, CO-Op, Tesco)

I dont really care if i get junk mail or not, i can choose to open it or put it straigt in my recycling bin.

It is a shame to waste so much energy and resources on printing it though, if its only going to be wasted.

Id much prefer if my bank was to stop sending me 2 letters each week offering me a loan, im pretty sure when the time comes ill approach them on my own. :p

It really depends on the size of the leaflet. It can range from a whopping 1.something p a leaflet to a massive 4p a leaflet :D
But I have just under 780 houses that I deliver to each day so it can add up. Given the choice though I'd rather do without the extra cash and not deliver them at all :)
