Planet Coaster and Elite Dangerous developer Frontier Developments has announced Jurassic World Evolution, a new dinosaur-filled theme park sim.

It's due to launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in summer 2018. The movie franchise's next film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, is due to be released next June.

Jurassic World Evolution will let you create and manage your own dinosaur theme park on Isla Nublar and its surrounding islands. You'll be able to bioengineer dinosaur breeds, build attractions, and maybe place toilets for people to be munched by dinos in.
"As long-time fans of the entire Jurassic series we're thrilled to be putting players in charge of their own Jurassic World," Frontier exec Jonny Watts said. "We're excited to bring over 15 years of management, simulation, and creature development expertise to a destination and franchise that remains an inspiration to us."

Could be interesting, I see many people raving about Planet Coaster though its not a title which has appeal for me. Not a big roller coaster fan and videos that I've watched make it seem too fiddly and 3D design software-like, but this one might be a little more accessible and dinosaurs are more appealing to me than roller coasters :)

As long as the management is actually interesting that is fine because the management in PC is awful and lacking significantly.

They got things so right with the construction/decoration side of PC that it made it even more obvious where things were half finished. This does look good though. Operation Genesis was excellent so hope they build of the premise of that.

I loved Operation Genesis back in the day! If this is anything like it, I'll be overjoyed!
Same! I played through it for a while not too long ago on PC. Once you got to a 5* park there was nothing else to really do though. Which you could get to pretty quickly. Hopefully this is similar as you say.

Never played Planet Coaster, but I believe it was well received, so tentatively looking forward to this. Just worried that the fact it's coming to console too will mean it'll be dumbed down.

+1

Just starts the whole buy it on PS or console debate. Assuming there will be workshop support/content then PC should win that argument.

Blasphemy! Planet Coaster is WONDERFUL!

It did look great, hope the graphics in the game are just as nice as the trailer.

That said, I wonder if they will fill the game with mini-dlcs to buy, skins and boxes and stuff and finally, I wish they did an Alien Isolation game based on JP instead of this. :p

From frontier expect loads of free updates
From universal studios expect loads of dlc...

Hmm which will it be? :D

Planet Coaster would be a good base to start from. I know P.C. has been updated but is there a proper economic challenge now as I remember that was a bit weak on launch? I prefer to just plonk down the pre-built stuff myself.
