Just 7v'd my fans and now temps have dropped LOADS!

^^ agreed i think it was this, i had 120's all round before used to be the panaflo on the cpu then thermaltake thunderblade front and back all 12v! now it's panaflo front (7v) / thermaltake cpu (12v) / YS-Tech rear (7v).
Soon to be YS-Front and rear and panaflo cpu! :D

PSU could be to blame too

I found if i had all my case fans sucking and let the pus suck it all out my temps dropped loads

it really isnt. air turbulance could easily do it, like i discribed above.

well itd still be unbalanced if the intake didnt match the exhaust and the cpu fan wouldnt really get starved unless that happened. if he had a feezer type cooler like i do, then a large fan behind it would actually help it :D oh and you'd have to have some SERIOUS fans to take away air from the cpu fan.

the key has always been to get a matched airflow in and out and to make sure the direction of flow goes over the heatsink.

but all setups will be different, you just need to follow those ^^ principles.

I have a p180, I removed the top 120mm and used the antec 38mm thick 120 on low for the back fan. My cpu load temps dropped 10'c. Wonder if there would be an improvement if I added a push down 120mm from the top.

Ive got 2 ys-tech 120mm 38thick that I replaced cause even at 5v they were too loud. Replaced them with 2 akasa ambers, got 1 38mm thick antec and 2 25mm thick antec, and 1 xinrullian 120mm * 25mm on the intake.

My old case had 2 * 80mm side in take and an 80mm front intake (without hard drives blocking it) and I would say cpu temps were better. Now though I have removed the heat from the gpu via watercooling in the lower chamber and its running a lot cooler.

Its not finished yet, cause I cant get the side panel on yet; looking good so far. I have 2 pics of it while leak testing. Ill take some more when its finished and then post it in a new thread.

Expect to see use of string, neoprene, and polystyrene; in the name of noise mitigation. :)

Its probably due to a cold spell but I have 28'c gpu temp @ idle (about 40'c using atitool artifact tester) 550/510. 550 was what I could get with my gpu fan on 100% and 2 * 80mm side intake aircooled, but underclocked mem by a few Mhz from 490Mhz. I havent pushed the memory on watercooling and Ive not added ramsink yet either. This watercooling is 2 antecs in the lower chamber on low.

I plan to upgrade to a faster card for ut2007, and have the mounting hardware already.

no, since the rear and the cpu fans are both 120's that i assume spin at different speeds inm close proximity, it can cause that.
I wish my xp-120 blew sideways or up, Im sure that would help a bit. Would like a tuniq tower ideally.
