Just a quick question about adding an HDD

Hey there chaps!

I'm running out of space on my drive here (WD 120GB SATA) and I want to add an additional hard drive to my system. Just to make sure, is it just a matter of plugging in the connectors, turn the PC on right click on the drive > format and ready to go, or do I have to do something in BIOS first? I am looking at this drive btw.

You're nearly right - you need to create a partition on the drive first before you can format it. This is done through Disk Management - right click on My Computer and pick Manage, then pick Disk Management from the left hand list in the new window. The new drive will show in there as a big block of unallocated space, all you do is right click and pick new partition, this will give you the option to format at the same time.

Yup. Make sure you have a sata data cable as you dont get them with the drives.

I've got some spare that came with the motherboard. Thanks guys
