• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Just a Tip for some GTX 280 Owners....

Rockstar Social Club: worst DRM ever.

Games for Windows Live: worst in-game DRM ever!

Steam: best system for PC gamers.

Well a card that idles @ 72c is not right in my book :D

*facepalm*

Honestly I think Sean is right when he says people dont read the original post!

The card actually idles at 53-55 degrees....however....when you have Rockstar Social Club loaded up your system turns to its Load speeds and thus the temp rises to around 72-73....when you close that again the clocks go back to idle and so does the temp.

THe point of the thread is to make people aware that Rockstar Social Club when loaded forces your card into your load temps.

I hate bumping old threads but it's better than starting a new one.

I've just been running GPUZ and I've noticed that there are quite a few apps which cause my 280 to not downclock itself. These are what I've found just in five minutes messing.

Steam
Windows live messenger
Safari BETA

Anyone else found any or know of ways round these?

tested it? whats that mean? heh, but yea, the game wont even run on medium with crossfire 4870 at 1920x1200, it sets itself back down to 1680x1050, the memory estimates are annoying as i'd like to run it on max even if i dont have enough memory as its not always gonna be using as much as it says

Can run it on any settings if you use the -nomemrestrict command (or whatever it is).

EDIT: Which you probably know now seen as this thread is a month old. :p
