Come home from a few hours out to find the car in my backyard has had it's bonnet spray painted with 3 sets of initials. On closer inspection of the area, they've used a can of primer from my shed.

I've heard voices down my back lane and had a look. There is a policeman there with 5 kids, he's waiting for backup.

The little little darlings have spray painted racist graffiti and their initials on the back of one of the the shops here. They got the wrong one, the kebab shop (with rear facing CCTV) is next door.

They taken my cans and bottles of polish & laquor, etc and just poured it on the ground, my roll of polishing cloth has rolled out on the ground and is covered in crap. My stonechip gun, tubs of filler, etc are all spread out on the ground in the back lane, totalled.

They've done damage & trashed tools, etc to the value of just over 200 quid. SOCO have taken photos, a local guy recorded the incident on his camera phone and has given a copy to the polce, i've given my statement and the police have gone, now i get to tidy up the mess.

Due to it being a bank holiday they are shorthanded and can't actually take the kids into the cells right now, if they do they wil be 5 officers down on the street for the next 5/6 hours, so it does make sense. The kids have been "reported" for the crimes (burglary, racial criminal damage) and will be called into the station over the next 24 hours to give statements.

The officers were honest, they don't know what will happen after that as things are always tricky when dealing with juveniles.

Really impressed :(

You say juveniles ? How old were they ?

From the look of them between 15 - 17.

Modern art? The streaks on the floor are were they squirtted £25 worth of rubbing compound on the floor.

Makes it kind of tricky to give the officer the wrong name ...

Just found a bong made from a pepsi bottle and two biros by the car while i was clearing up too, best let the officer know before they bring the scrotes in for questioing.

Bah, just had a call back from one of the officers, the bong is of no use to them as it was in a communal area (finding it at the end back lane next to a vandalised car was just a coincidence then :()

Would have different if it had been spotted at the time and not an hour after the police left i suppose.

Got hold of the cctv footage of the shop they thought they were spray painting. They were there nearly 90 minutes  Nice view of two of them walking around smoking the bong though ;) Coincidence my arse! :D

Also timed a full 5 minutes of the first officer arriving and our car reversing past the camera. Little angels were lucky. Where would i stand if i performed a citizens arrest and they resisted?

Update.

Had a call from a youth support officer (a what?) telling me that te first scumbag has been dealt with. YAY! He's been given a "final warning". huh? Scrote now goes though some scheme or other to help him work out his problems.

Would i like a written letter of apology? Would i ballcocks. Oh but he's admitted his crime. Of course he bloody has, an officer caught him in the act, if he'd denied it he would have to go to court.

And i've got sod all chance of getting any compensation as i'd have to pursue a civil claim against him, which would cost me more than i'd be getting back

Can i have my Police Force back now, this Police Service doesn't seem to have any teeth.

Heard back from the officer yesterday, all the scotes have had a warning, so we can all feel safe now.

Would i like to meet some of the scum face to face so they can appologise? No.

How do i get compensated now that they have dodged a criminal hearing? Well one of them has saved up £120 of her pocket money to help pay for the walls to be repainted and tools replaced. Great, how do i get some? Well you would have to meet them to get the money. Not so great.

So now i have to sit down with the dregs and be all nicey nicey in an attempt to be paid for the damage these little ***** did.

Fantastic.

Don't swear. FF.

heh, backyard has been done again, overnight this time. Got my 500w inverter, car battery charger and my car polisher (proper one too, not a halfords/argos job)

Not even going to bother reporting it this time.

Was going to give the new van a wash and scrub up this weekend too, ho hum. :(

ok, this is getting silly now, woke up to find somebody had popped the back doors on the new(ish) van and unscrewed the sparewheel! They must have been disturbed as they kindly left the wheelbrace and spare laying flat in the back of the van.

Is there anything they won't nick?

Have you considered setting up security cameras?

heh, the worst part is that i actually fit the stuff professionally, just don't have the smegging time to do my own place!

aren't you required to get peoples permission if you wanna tape em braking into your house now?

You need to display signs warning passers-by that they could be recorded on your cameras, but anybody who breaks in or damages your property effectively forego their right to a warning.

tbh your a fool for staying in an area which is cleary a blackspot for theft / burgulary.

To move needs money. A large deposit (which i can just about get hold of) and a credit check (which i will never pass)

Maybe you're the fool for thinking i hadn't already considered (and tried) this option?

Well i've just been to get this weeks crime number from the local station. Van has been done again. Between 7pm & 10pm tonight they ripped out the polythene sheet i had in the quarterlight on the passenger side (window was broken in the last breakin, haven't had a chance to replace it yet), reached in, wound down the window and unlocked the door. Helped themselves to a fleece from a box and tried to get the door open.

HA! I was parked against a hedge and a dwarf wall for a reason you stupid little barstewards!

Ho hum, i've got a sheet of perspex i can bodge into a window and gripfill in place i suppose (the ones that broke the window also nicked part of the window gasket so a proper window wouldn't stay put if i had one :() Looks like i need to chop into the steel and fit conventional 3 lever mortice locks too, need to keep the little phar-quars out somehow!

Naff all the police can do, even when they catch them, they don't get prosocuted.

Van was parked JUST out of sight 40m from my door in a sidestreet, no good for cameras. Unless i get another couple of hidden wireless jobs and stash them in the van. ;) (really useful, but an utter ballache to sort out)
