In my quest to get my full licence before the Jan 2013 rule changes I have booked my theory test.

Booked for the 14th August

Is it easy enough? :o I have done a few practise test online and have done OK...Are these like the real thing?

Cheers

I bought a DVD with the theory test and hazard perception practice on it. I kept practising repeatedly until I was getting full marks in the theory part. Even then I was still trying to do at least one practice test a day

The hazard perception bit is crazy, but the practice was well worth it as I got acclimatised to how things worked.

Its not that bad. I did fail the first time though as I did not know some of the answers to some stupid questions, I would check up on stopping distances as they came up both times

I did it a couple of times online the day before & went with the attitude that I would fail but then know what I had to do to pass. As it turned out I scraped a pass in the theory with a 43 :D
I found the Hazard bit easy though which is probably down to me driving for 30 years.

The theory part is so easy - it's 90% common sense and 10% weird stuff. Got near enough full marks for that

Hazard perception however was a bit trickier for me as I didn't click enough the first couple of times and failed. Went overboard on the clicking on the final attempt and just about passed it. It's flawed!

Before you can take your theory test you will need to make sure you have a valid provisional driving licence. You can apply for a provisional driving licence from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). The application form (form D1) can be obtained from your local Post Office.

I've booked my theory test for next week. I got an iPhone test app which is pretty good for 2.99. It's tailored to the motorcycle test and includes all questions, mock tests and the highway code too. The site is www.uktheorytest.com. It also works on android etc...

Decided to go for a bike instead of a car now...will proberly get my theory booked for next month hope you pass yours

Annoyingly, if you already have a drivers licence I really don't see the need for this... however we have to do it so there. It's common sense, apart from a few techy questions on stopping distance (I got one)... but pretty easy tbh... I got 47/50 on the day I think... Hazzard test is the same, hard to fail unless you're a retard OR you don't know what you're doing or your mouse button doesn't work lol.

Personally for me, the MOD1 was the toughest as in I was most nervous as it's "foot down = fail" thing keeps you right on your toes.

You've done the right thing, just get it done no, no arsing about next year when it all changes again etc... good luck and keep us updated.

how much of a wait was there for your theory?

You can usually get them within a week or so. At my local test centre there were multiple slots available every day for bikes.

Go here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Diol1/D...7297?CID=MTB&PLA=url_mon&CRE=book_theory_test & click Start Booking, it'll take you through a few steps and give you a list of available dates. You can cancel at that point if you just wanted to look up dates and aren't ready to book yet.

And yes OP, it's very easy.

I passed both my driving theory & motorbike theory using "Driving Test Success All Tests". The good thing about the hazard perception mock test on that software is at the end it tells you where you clicked, and where you should have clicked to get maximum points.

Bear in mind, they are introducing some unpublished questions.

Nope, you still have to do the separate motorbike theory test unfortunately. It's basically the same, but you'll get about 5 motorbike related questions.

I didn't have to do a theory/Hazard test to get my CBT but I did have to get one before I did my DAS. Has summit changed ?
