Just bought a 1080ti - Spec me some games please

Nope it's well optimised, looks stunning is a pc only game so no poor port to optimise from!in fact surely it's the only mainstream pc only game in years.

As someone who loves the game im going to have to strongly dissagree with you calling it well optimised. It's really not it's one of the worst optimised games i have seen in a long time unfortunately.

Well we're going to have to agree to disagree. It's probably (and by quite some margin, no a huge margin) the best looking game on pc at the moment. Why would it not put a gpu through its paces?

So who is it geared towards if it runs so badly and the developers think it is acceptable?

Get Doom, a 4K monitor, crank everything up to ultra and realise you have arrived... PC gaming at its zenith... silky smooth, glorious, flawless and just utterly brilliant. Then try another game @ 4K maxed out and realise you haven't arrived at all, 4K is still as immature as ever and game developers are just getting lazier and lazier with their optimisation for PC's. If that doesn't depress you enough, get a second 1080Ti for SLI... :(

Or just learn to optimise the games yourself i.e. reduce the settings that bring little to no benefit to IQ but kill FPS :p

As for good looking games:

- gta 5
- battlefront/bf 1
- assassins creed unity (be warned this will ruin every game for you though as this game world feels/look amazing, feels so alive, every game in comparison just feels "empty" to me now)
- witcher 3
- fallout 4
- the division
- doom
- batman arkham knight

LOL! It is unreal.

So if you have the latest hardware and it still runs poorly, the best money can buy how can that be good?

Huh? All of my games run just fine at 4k. The only exception is PUBG, which doesn't even run well at 1080p.

Not sure you get what optimised means? Theres plenty of PC only games that are poorly optimised and its not something thats exclusive to the game being a port.

ARK: Survival Evolved is by far the most demanding game on PC at times, and can be the best looking. It's still in production but is better optimized than a lot of games at this point in it's development. Im on a 1070 with a lowly 3570k and get very playable frames at a mixture of epic/high... Bases are problematic though.

I have GTA V which i know is old, but with the 1080ti i hope to crank everything up to the max !!

At 1440p my 1080ti has allowed me to play GTAV at high settings for the first time totally smoothly. But at 1440p you still can't turn all the settings up to max without major fps drops. You can though set it to very nice and maintain high frames.
