I got a 27" 3.4 too, I installed a Vertex 3 SSD in there though. Sod paying all that for Apple's inferior SSDs!

How hard was the ssd install and does that effect warranty?

i thought there were major issues with fan speeds etc when changing the hard drive?

my imac arrived today - but it's still in it's box. going to unbox and set up tomorrow

just a thought though - i didn't order the track pad and i'm very used to using it on my macbook...do people actually use these on their desktop imacs?

I bought the missus one for Christmas to use with her 27" iMac and she hasn't used the mouse since. Works fine for Photoshop etc.

I took everything to an AASP, they fitted it for £56. And as they are an AASP it kept the warranty intact

I have had NO FAN ISSUES AT ALL!

Now that is interesting, by the way did you swap out the original drive or do you have both fitted now?
