• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Just bought a new I7-9700k from Overclockers and it arrived in just a small white box

The OEM versions are generally the left overs of ocuks speed binning with chips that dont make the grade being sold off slightly cheaper than retail versions.

No. Those chips go into system prebuilds, not OEM shop sales.

Not saying OcUK does or doesn't but there are places that do that however :(

So you came here to defame a company with zero evidence, just based on the fact that other places definitely do.
Defame?

I'm saying that all we have is their word that they don't...

Sometimes used stock "slips" into new inventory. People have posted about getting used items numerous times here. OcUK fix it any time it pops up, but it makes me wonder how many times it happens and someone doesn't bring it up?

Don't be a big baby though. You're taking this way too seriously. My main point is that we don't truly know if they don't. If you've seen the way 8pack operates around the members' market, your trust in him might just drop a tiny bit.

What other places and how do you know they do without been staff?
The countless examples of people receiving blatantly used stock resold as new at lots of online stores. You know naming competitors is against the rules, but all all the major ones have examples of this happening. There are also numerous threads here from customers claiming their item has been clearly used, despite it being sold as new.

Many years ago I used to work for one of these places and it was going on then - from buying experiences since (and some of the posts I've seen pop up on various forums) I'm 99% sure some of them are still doing it.

I have an account with Eurocarparts and many times i have received something thats been blatantly fitted before , a while ago i bought a suspension airbag for a merc and whilst the box seemed unopened and immaculate the air spring was muddy and used. It wasn't Euros trying to con me , its just that big companies Ocuk included probably have lots of returns for various reasons, some is returned back to stock , some discounted , some returned to the supplier , checked and reboxed , and inevitably some things slip through the net, i know the guy at Euros that does the returns personally , and as he admits sometimes mistakes are made, he has an unbelievable about of returns to process every day and he can't physically check everything, sometimes he has to trust that customers are returning a genuinely either unwanted or wrongly supplied part.
