Hi people
I've just cloned my old old old Crucial M4 64gd ssd onto a brand new crucial BX500 120gb expecting a boost in performance.
However using the crystaldiskmark software i'm getting slower reads on the newer drive than the old one?
The new one is advertised as being 540mb/s read and 500mb/s write but I'm only getting 400mb/s reads and 357mb/s writes?
Its on a sata 3 connector what else could be holding it back?
Any advice appreciated

There's no exclamation marks in device manager so I assume all drivers are installed correctly but I haven't manually installed any it's an old z77 motherboard from asrock.....

For anyone else that might have been interested in this issue, I've now sorted it and am getting full advertised speeds.
Apparently this motherboard has sata ports via different chipsets and even though the Asmedia chipsets are labelled as Sata 3 they aren't full fat....
Switched to the Intel ports and now whizzing along at full speed.
Very impressed for £23!!

Came in to say make sure your plugged into a Intel chipset port as I had this issue many moons ago, once resolved I like yourself was a very happy bunny, glad you sorted it.
