Just bought RBS shares

Well, if I didn't, I'd be kicking myself. The amount I invested was laughable the person on the other side of the phone did giggle a bit at the amount I invested

854 Shares RBS @ 27.379p a share totalling £249.99 inc comission and stamp duty.

I'll invest another £250 in May.

I'll hold on to the shares until 2013. If I loose out, it's £250.00 that I can afford to loose.

Don't see why they should laugh. If you make on it, nice one. If you lose on it, you've lost what you put in at most.

Seems a fair shout to me. I'd have had words with them if they'd laughed at me.

A lot of investments in companies I imagine are smaller investors... No point chuckling at the smaller investments.

I made a few hundred quid when they were bottoming out at 13-14p ish a couple of months ago. I went in with the same attitude to risk - if they went up and made money, I'll pull them out, if it went down or stayed the same, I'll leave it in there until they go up. I didn't risk money I could do without for sometime.

ive got £350 worth which i bought @ 11. I wish i had sold them a couple of days ago @ 35 and bought back now.....

I have a collegue who bought £5k of RBS shares @ ~17p a share. They still have them. I'd be interested to see how it ends up in 2 years time.

My dad was banging on about how good value they were at 35p and how if he had any money he'd be buying. Good job he's skint then.

Was going to do the same but missed the really low prices and lost interest. Anyone got a good recommendation for who to use to buy shares? Looking for easy and reasonably priced per trade.

i guess your plan is advertised RBS on OCUK, everyone follow suit, share prices go up and you sell and make a killing lol

If everyone in ocuk bought £250 it wouldnt even make a blip, so rubbish plan.

Sleepless I use Nationwide. Just pick up, call them, 20 seconds later the trade is complete. Their comission charges are on their site.

presumably you need to open an account with them first. Is it fairly painless?
I've got an international share account via my work but converting it to a full brokerage account is apparently more hassle than its worth.

Bit silly investing £250.00 now and £250 later. You're already down 10% (taking into account purchase fee and sale fee); when you pay the fees again you'll be nearly 17% down.
