Just built a Q9300 what sort of temperature should I expect?

Temps seem a little high I'd say for idle on 45mn part with custom cooler - assuming your running stock speeds and voltage.

Again, it's all about those load temps so get priming

The TJMax on these 45nm parts seems to be 85C; it went down a notch compared to the previous series.
Using that value as a base, my Q9300 @ 3Ghz runs idle at about 30C; and about ~45C when heavily loaded.

I always thought its more accurate readin from the bios for temperatures?

I've always found the BIOS temp to be total fiction.

In many cases I've found my BIOS reports sub ambient which is literally impossible.
