just built my first

i got as5 all over the computer room last time i was drunk..... wasn't even in the process of a new build.... jees that stuffs hard to get off!
 
Just a word of warning about the coolermaster wavemaster case--- IT IS TERRIBLE AT COOLING. I have one and when i play battlefield 2142 for a couple of hours my pc shuts down and the side panel of the case gets very hot. Soon i will drill out the holes in the front of the case (behind the piece of aluminium with coolermaster sign) to make them a bit bigger and see if i can get some better fans. i may then add another exhuast fan at the top of the case as this is where the heat builds up. It's a great feeling building your first pc :D, even better when you get a good overclock out of it.

After that I'm afraid it's all downhill as you become ever more anal about the tiniest of things such as CPU voltage and getting that extra mhz :D.

My old tube of AS5 went poopoo on me, it was about 1.5 years old though and when I applied a new film to my a64 3800+ cpu I could not get the heatsink off! I pulled and pulled and it would not budge! in the end the heatsink came off but it took the cpu clean off from the socket :eek: :eek:

I will stick to my Vantec ceramique methinks :)
 
I built mine yesterday with a DS4 board and tried to format the HDD. Windows set up could see the drive but could not format it. I switched it off and swapped the drive from the no1 purple sata port to the no1 orange sata port and it worked. Don’t know if I should have done this but it works.
