Just built new computer but getting no sound

I did that first and it recognized my speakers but it didn't show a tutorial which tells you which colour cable you put in the port.

The sound was originally crackling up and i tried then updating to the latest sound drivers but then i could not get any sound.

I also tried rolling back and deleting the newest drivers. So i went back to the drivers on the asus disc and now i just have no audio at all.

You haven't done anything wrong. Did you install any codecs? What other option does the BIOS give you for sound except from HD audio?

No sound codecs installed.

This is the stuff i installed from the disc:

Intel Chipset Driver
Realtek Audio Driver
Realtek Lan Driver
Intel Rapid Storage Technlogy driver
Intel USB 3.0 Driver

And i installed the Asus AI Suite II utility program

i know this might be well off but ive just had problem with my sound and it turned out to be a windows update

try deleting kb2529073 windows update

i dont think it will work but you never know

i also got rid off all todays updates too.

There's a good chance it could be a windows update. I'll try that now.

I would probably let windows install all the updates first and see if that corrects the problem after you reinstall the motherboard drivers. Does't sound to be a hardware issue.

Yeah i just uninstalled that update. I still don't have sound. The pc is running fine other than not having any sound.

I will try reinstalling the sound drivers again. If i can't fix i'll just buy another motherboard this week. Hopefully i can get one with no problems.

I guess the onboard sound is faulty. I guess i'm going to have to send it back. Anyone out there who knows how to fix this problem?
