just built pc but small problem

Do you have another keyboard to try just incase that one is dead? (or test that keyboard on another pc)

ok major progress i have got keyboard working. so now if i boot up and leave it i get the same message about media disk. but while its booting up if i press f2 i'm able to get into cmos config. i swapped the rder of the boot device so that the cd/dvd is 1st and yes the windows xp disk is in. i've tried many reboots. so basically its not booting up from the cd is it?? any idea on how to sort this. i feel that i'm so close now

is the cd drive being reconised in the bios?

ide cables and power cables in properly?

yep all cables ok. i tried the xp disk in the 2nd cd drive as well. the bios recognises everything

have you got another xp disc that you could try?

well its a brand new one so it should work
