Just drained my loop...this is bad right?

So I just drained my loop so that I could use my blocks in my new silver TJ07 and noticed crap in my reservoir + rad and the Mayhems Green UV premixed coolant was discoloured in the RAD and RES and came out the colour of copper.

My EK Supremecy HF Copper Plexi block and my XSPC 750 dual bay res were all stained up from what looks like corrosion in one of my blocks, then on closer inspection my EK FC580GTX EN Nickel Plexi block may have been the cause. I flushed out everything using deionised water see below:

Couldn't clean it :(

Couldn't open it to clean properly because one of the hex screws got stripped so just flushed it with deionised water until the water came out clear:
After flushing (cloudiness is just condensation...I think:

Should I just be able to use everything as-is in my new loop with my new XSPC dual D5 Dual Bay Res? I don't want to permanately stain that up as well as it was expensive :/

I used uv green coolant & it eventuly turned brown. I have some pictures I'll post later to show you.

it may not be the same reason as you though

The rust colour is because of the XSPC bay res, the screws in it are not plated properly and it comes from there. we seen this on two of them we have had and i ended up just throwing them in the bin. One of the liquids we tested was X1 and the other way Pastel it happened to both of them :(.

This thread puts me right off doing a water loop, seems a lot of hassle. Good luck.

It's not really that bad, I'm had the loop for over a year now and occasionally one can experience things such as this because when you're immersing copper and other metals under water, there's going to be a reaction and some corrosion and discolouration is inevitable. But it doesn't affect the performance one bit and if you have coloured coolant it covers the discolouration up so it's not noticeable!

If all else fails, there's always the sealed liquid cooling systems that are maintenance free, although IMO not worth the price as their performance is nowhere near a custom loop!

Oh Really? ****...does that affect the Twin D5 version too? Is that why there's crap in the GPU Block?

Rust is a nightmare in a loop and once it set in causes so many problems you wouldn't beleve it if i started reeling them off. But to say the least it is a issue with the pump screws ... One of the big ones is once there is rust floating around it then attacks ever thing in the loop and all so is a bit like sand paper and will scratch all you components leading to faster ware and tear.

You all ways need to consider and factor in all these things when you buy a system do you go for quality or cost.
