Just finished Half Life 2!

wow. what a game! really awesome :D

i posted this because i wanted to ask you guys if i should play the Half Life 1 games including Opposing Force, Blue Shift and Decay? i wouldnt mind playing them and are they really awesome like number 2? im going to play Ep.1 and 2 soon.

also what was your favourite part in HL2? i think mine was driving along the Lost Coast or the prison place.

Yeh HL2 was the first game I played properly and what a game it was. Suck a good feeling when i finished it I really enjoyed it it really took me on a journey with all the rebels. I did really enjoy it i would recommend it to anyone!!
 
i might replay at a later date but i want to continue with the story. i'll keep the cinematic mod in mind when i i do replay though!
 
Both Half Life and Opposing Force are amazing games, Blue Shift is good but not a patch on the rest. With that said i do really like the fact you get to see Barneys story of what happened to him in Black Mesa in Blue Shift.
 
HL2, such a great game. Love the mix of gameplay, still don't think the use of physics has been surpassed by any other title.
 
If you've played HL2 before any of them, then shame on you!

HL, Op For, Blue Shift, HL2, Ep1, Ep2 is the order! :D

haha i know :p i just jumped in at HL2 because i thought i could just read the story on the net. and now i want to play them! i wont play Ep1 and 2 before i finish HL, OF and Blue Shift though.

I didn't really enjoy HL1 but I loved HL2. HL2 is brilliant from start to finish but HL started well, got very good in the middle but they completely screwed up the final part of the game which left me with a bad impression of the game. However I am in the minority on this.
 
My best bit on HL2 is near the end when you start getting thrown into the action more and more (edit - ie when you get off the coast and go back into the city). I think its EP1 where you get into a lot of fights with striders which are really good fun. Ep2 is also superb
 
Awesome? Really? I thought it was OK, the main downside being those unnecessarily long boat/car levels.

yeah i know but i've always had other games to play and i haven's had a decent one to play on my naf laptop so i thought i would give HL2 a go. glad i did!
 
HL2 is the best game ever made. I thought that by the time I was 1/3 the way through it and still do now. And that's from playing games from Amstrad CPC 464 through to today. I'm due a re-play through HL2 and the episodes soon. There is a mod called "The Hidden (source)" an online game that I recommend. The episodes are good but quite short.
