:) Hi all, im currently running 4gb of ocz 8500 reaper on my asus wifi deluxe MB with vista premium 64 bit, i installed another 4gb of the reaper then pressed the power button on, the tower came on but nothing came up on the screen. My mouse and keyboard also didnt come on. i took the 4gb back out and he presto everythings working fine again, PLEASE HELP, thx all kind regards wayne:]:).

you probably need to up the voltage. it should say on your ram what voltage its rated at.

if that doesnt work do a bit of digging on google to see if anyone else has had problems with that ram and mobo combo.

Mine was doing that with the upgrade to 8gb earlier today, turned out I had dust in the slots, taking sticks out and back in again sorted it.

Let me know how you fix this mate as I am considering putting another 4GB into mine, so just incase I encounter the same problem... :)

Hi all, the first thing i tried to do is update my bios, there is a new version available, i started asus update version 7.14.1, did the usuall steps, downloaded the latest bios update from the asus website, opened the asus utility and selected update from file. After i choose the file, the utility shuts down completely, i cant update my bios now for some reason, im fed up now, can anyone help?,

Hi again all, i did a little test with the ram there, i put one stick in and the pc came on np, was reading the extra 2 gb, so 6gb in total. The i took that stick out and put the other one in and the pc didnt come on at all, a faulty stick i take it then?.

ok first of all, edit out the competitor's name...

second, if the seller guaranteed a working product, you can ask for an exchange or a refund. A return is not the same as an exchange or a refund.

Third, if you have used a third party payment company, and I think you must use them nowadays, they have some kind of buyer-protection insurance policy for cases like this. Try to resolve it with the seller first.

The seller said the memory was new, i did some more tests, i put the other good stick in the box in on its own and the whole pc came on as normal, including the monitor etc, i then put the other dodgy stick in along with the good one, and guess what, the monitor wouldent come on. I then put the dodgy stick in by itself and the monitor didnt come on again, im thinking a faulty stick then, whats does everyone think?.

It's not necessary faulty, it's a typical scenario I have experienced in my old P35 setup.

My g/f's PC has the P5K Premium (same as the Deluxe effectively, few minor updates) and putting 4 sticks in when I upgraded her PC gives a black screen. I had the same, I found 1 stick I thought was faulty but it isn't, and on some boot ups it wouldnt boot even with one (hitting reset will trigger the failsafe settings usually on a failed boot on the motherboard and thus boot)

What I had to do was update her BIOS, give the NB more juice (1.4V if I recall rightly) and then switch off the PC, put the rest of the memory in and it then worked fine since then.

The P35 chipset does not officially support 1066Mhz RAM and thus you need to up the volts on the NB.

Very common scenario I'm afraid. Doesn't mean you have a faulty stick, it just means the mobo may not run that particular RAM with a 4th stick at your current settings, not matter which one of the 4 it is. Try swapping that 4th stick with another one that is already in there, I would say you will get the same behaviour

Hi guys, i tried a lot of different variations with the new memory and my current memory, the same thing happens with the faulty stick installed, when i take it out, all is good, as i said i tried it on its own aswell and the same problem occures. I only get the behavior with the particular dodgy stick installed, i also contacted technical support from the ocz website and he said its a faulty stick.

as i said i tried it on its own as well and the same problem occurs.

OK, then that is conclusive. I had the same situation actually, 1 faulty stick out of 4, and had to RMA the appropriate pair. Fortunately the OCZ tech guys on the forum were fantastic in helping me.

Are the 4 sticks identical at all? I have a matched pair of 2GB Reaper X PC-8000 and matched pair of Reaper HPC PC-8500 in my P35 DS4. The only way I can get all 8GB working is by placing the PC-8000 sticks in slots 1 and 3, otherwise the machine fails to POST (same problem)

Hi m8, i have tried every single way possible to get this one stick to work but nothing, even the ocz people said its a faulty stick, thx for all the help all, much appreciated, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!.
