Thought I'd start a just for fun, light hearted thread where I ask you the following questions:

1.What is the best car you've driven?
2. What is the worst car you've driven?
3. What was your first car
4. What is your dream car?

I know some on here own supercars and that's awesome, but also people who own a Honda Jazz and haven't driven anything else are welcome to comment! There's probably been threads like this before but hey ho, I can't find them!

So to get started, mine:

1. Best is my current 320d touring, Msport I know it's not amazing but I love the handling, interior and looks of the car. It's an auto and the jerky gearbox in sport is my only gripe, tradeoff is the handling is great.

2. Worst was a 1995 Peugeot 205 with a blown head gasket. I got it for free and about 3 days later it was in the scrap yard. Pulled left on braking, probably had a wheel bearing gone and made a racket between 30-40 and 60-70mph on the drive home.

3. First car was a 2002 Fiat Punto, I learnt to drive in it and it was my late mothers car that I inherited when she passed away. I should have fond memories of it but I was new to driving and it was rubbish. I wrote it off by handbrake turning it into a rock!

4. Dream car for me is a toss up between a 69 Shelby Mustang or a McLaren F1, with the F1 inching it out only slightly. I love the noise and have been lucky enough to see one in the flesh, but of course never driven it. Maybe one day when I make my millions.

Your turn!

Difficult one to answer as it depends on how you interpret the first two, ie best allrounder or best at putting a smile on your face?

1. If i'ts best allrounder it'd be a toss up between one of the MK3 Mondeos I've owned - A 2.0 TDCi 115 with all the kit from a Titanium X retrofitted or the ST220 I have now. The ST220 is better than the TDCi in all situations but at the cost of double the fuel consumption & a harsher ride, but then the seats are so much comfier in the ST and it's 10 times nicer to drive if the road isn't ****.

2. Worst Allrounder? Probably a DeLorean, it offered nothing other than being that car from Back to the Future. Slow, Cramped, Impractical.

3. First car was (and still is) a 1983 Ford Capri 2.8i

4. Pretty much impossible to answer, probably a late model Lamborghini Diablo or a Ferrari F40.

1) Best car when emotions weren't considered...Mercedes CLS500. Utterly unexciting, but it did every single thing it needed to do very competently. Rode well, handled well, pulled well, plenty of room, didn't chew fuel too badly. Best car when actual emotion was involved...Jaguar E-Type.
2) Worst car all things considered...man, there's been some rubbish. But the absolute worst was probably the Nissan Almera that my driving instructor had. One lesson in that pile and we switched to my own car for the remainder of my driving lessons. None of the controls felt connected to the bit they were supposed to be operating. It was utterly hopeless.
3) First car was the one that I actually learned to drive in, a Fiat Seicento SX with a whopping 0.9 litre engine and a frankly terrifying 39bsp* power rating. But that car taught me about every facet of driving. Particularly strong lessons about maintaining momentum and about staying safe when everyone around you is driving like an utter tit...I thank the memory of that car any time I drive something quite old that doesn't so much accelerate as gently gather pace.
4) Jaguar E-Type. Or a Bristol Brigand. Or something shouty and American. I wobble back-and-forth on that a lot.

* - brake Shetland ponies :p

1.What is the best car you've driven? - In terms of performance E90 BMW 335i, Cars were just a speck in the mirror during the traffic light grand prix
Or in terms of best car i've owned? Probably has to be our old 7th Gen 2003 2.0l Honda Accord triptronic, Been in the family for over 10 years, I owned it for 3 years and I plowed 50k miles (family put also put around 50k in 7 years) into it and got rid with about 170k miles on the clock (My 8th gen 09 2.4l Accord has placed it) It was stupidly reliable, never broke down, never had an issue, all it asked was to be serviced, fuel chucked in it and it was happy, despite only 150bhp it was quick for what it was and was fun in the twisties, I would happily buy another but with a K24 and a manual.

2. What is the worst car you've driven? Tough one, I've driven some rubbish cars, For me it's between the 2.7 V6 Hyundai coupe (Slow, lazy throttle response, everything was just lazy about the car) or the 2012 1.2 Honda Jazz I was given while my old 7th gen Accord was in for a recall (My old 1.2 clio was much quicker and didn't roll in the corners as bad as that thing did)

3. What was your first car? - 52 Plate Mk2 Ph2 1.2 16v Clio which was kept in the family for roughly 6 years before it was swapped in for the new shape Nissan Micra for my mother (Which is also a very nice little city car), I really miss this car even if it was just a 1.2, it was fun to drive, surprisingly reliable, cheap to run, I couldn't think of a better "reasonable" first car to have instead of it, when i got my licence 10 years ago.

4. What is your dream car? - Hard to answer, I look at different cars everyday that peaks my interest, Currently its a Clio V6 from a recent top gear video, Yesterday it was FD2 Honda Civic, I simply couldn't answer this one.

1) Best car probably Nissan GT-R (R35) - I know a lot of people don't like the level of assists, etc. but overall I feel most connected in terms of overall immediacy of input and reaction though sometimes there is a disconnect in that you know it will do something but there is a lack of transitional feedback. I will probably own one one day but I'm in no hurry.

2) Rover Metro - you weren't sure if it would actually turn a corner, never sure if the brakes would actually bring you to a stop and judder enough to make your hands numb at certain speeds in the steering.

3) See above.

4) Doesn't exist - will see if I can find a picture of something similar.

1.What is the best car you've driven?
Huracan Perf. Thing was just absolute insanity.

2. What is the worst car you've driven?
Some old shape polo my dad purchased as a temp car. To this day I cant see why he purchased it. It was overpriced, it had questionable mileage, it had a questionable history, it drove like ****, it handled like ****, it started and stopped like ****. But for whatever reason he saw the advert and that was the car he wanted.

3. What was your first car
307 Rapier. Astonishingly reliable, insanely cheap to service run and insure, relatively quick for a first car.

4. What is your dream car?
Aventador SJV.

Best car? My current Mx5 mk4, does everything a sports car should in a nice comfy environment - ok its not perfect... needs stiffer springs (sitting in a box currently) and an exhaust and remap to feel "proper sports car like" which are on it. But its fun factor blitzes almost everything else on 4 wheels. Folk that dis it are either noobs or liers.

Worst, My e46 BMW 330cd msport - it was swift(ish), handled like a cathedral and was rather unreliable as well as having a habit of eating springs (it snapped 3 of them, all stock which i eventually replaced with eibachs). Car was like many other modern so called "sports" things.. yes fast, yes had shed loads of grip but it was bloody heavy (1600kilos) and didnt put a smile on my face much.

First car (not a company car) was a primera eGT, handled best out of all my cars.. even the mx5 - was a bit unreliable but hey.

Dream car? sub 1000kilo 400 or so bhp 9 thousand rpm normally aspirated 2 seat drop top sports car for 30 grand - if you see this unicorn let me know.

Only driven two!

1) seat leon mk3, love it even as 1.2, its quite quick for what it is,

2) pug 2008, plastic inside everywhere, horrible slow touch display, no power to it took forever to get going.

1) my current seat leon mk3

4) Skyline R34 - I wouldn't care what varient I just love the car

Best car for me is a tossup between my brothers Porsche Cayman GT4. Absolutely love driving it whether it be on the track or on a public road. Now that he has put race headers on it, it’s even more immense.
The other one is a Lamborghini huracan performante that I’ve driven a few times when out in Dubai. Belongs to a very good friend of mine and geezus that car is just pure raw madness. Both cars above, when I get a chance to drive them fill me with mucho joy.

Worst car I’ve driven/owned?? A 1987 ford escort 1.3. Happened to be my first car I owned and dear god it was terrible in every respect. But hey first car and all that lol.

Dream car would definitely be the Lamborghini huracan performante. Would love to own one, such an epic car through and through.

1) Probably not the best I've driven but the most fun was a TVR Griffith 500. So tail happy I couldn't keep it in a straight line.

2) Citroen 2CV. Felt like it was going to tip over on every corner!

3) 1973 mini 1000

4) Always changing, but I usually keep coming back to an RS6 for an all round mix of performance and practicality.

1.What is the best car you've driven?
My current car. Jaaaaag XJ 351. Effortless waftyness and very very comfortable. Runner up an E36 coupe I owned 20 years ago.

2. What is the worst car you've driven?
Can't remember the model, but it was a Renault hire car. Some stupid electronic handbrake and a gearbox so utterly **** you never knew what gear you were going to get. Hill starts were a danger to anyone behind us: was sorely tempted to stand behind the car waving a yellow flag to keep people at bay.

3. What was your first car
Spookily the same as @leoncuprar 1988 Vauxhall Nova 1.2 Merit.

4. What is your dream car?
I find this a really difficult question to answer. Much as the wall poster porn that some people on here own (gibbo, kindai, crinkle etc) appeals, deep down I know I'm not a good enough a driver to get the most out of the exotic stuff, so even with lottery win money a car dealer isn't on my visit list. I can't go more wafty than the XJ (Bentley, Roller etc) without it being something I consider to be a hideous eyesore.

1.What is the best car you've driven? nothing crazy but my fathers S2000 , on coils and BBK it handles like an absolute dream closely followed by my S2000

2. What is the worst car you've driven? Citroen C1

3. What was your first car? Vauxhall Corsa C 1.2

4. What is your dream car? quite a few dream cars, one thats always stood out to me is Hakosuka Skyline simply beautiful.

Best car is my current one fiesta 1.0, good in the corners, practical enough, has all the gizmos I need and when you put your foot down and it's in full boost its fast enough to annoy German saloon drivers.

Worst is a toss up between my 108 and a 2nd gen Ka. Both have terrible driving positions, piddly need engines that be thrashed to move and the previous owners treat them like white goods.

First car was a fiesta 1.25, still regret selling it as it was replaced with the Ka for economy reasons which 5 months later were no longer an issue.

Dream car could be an F40 or LFA or Carrera GT. Probably the Carrera GT because howling V10 and not a Lexus

1.What is the best car you've driven?
Toyota Supra TT BPU

2. What is the worst car you've driven?
Easily a Skoda Favorit GLXI estate my family inherited from my granddad who's eyesight was failing. As well as being incredibly slow the worst thing on it were the brakes, I have never known brakes so bad.

3. What was your first car
1999 Toyota Celica GT

4. What is your dream car?
Id be happy with a gunmetal Datsun 240z with a nice single turbo 2JZ.

1. I'm going to go with what gave me the biggest grin here, my Scooby WRX, it was such a step up from what I had had before
2. BMW 1 series
3. 1984 Escort Mk3, 1.3L
4. I'm going to answer this in part a and b, a) the one I am realistically going to buy in a couple of years, TT RS, b) Testarossa, I know its not remotely fast or good by modern standards, if I could have 2 I would add one of Richards Burns or Colin McRays WRC scoobies

I'm going to add category 5 as well, First car you ever drove in any way or form.

5. A family friends 3.0L Capri, on a private carpark at age about 12, (he was with me in the car)

And category 6, what did you learn to drive in

6. a) instructors car was a 1986 Escort 1.3L (hence my first car), b) fathers car was a Cavalier SRi 130. There was a bit of difference when driving one to the other ;)

1. A car I never really ever considered, I guess I simply never understood the whole Ferrari thing, as never driving a modern one (driven 360CS and 430, which was proper awesome) but I never really got it, maybe just thought the brand was more about a badge, showing off. But when I was test driving, the 458 monster the other cars as a drivers car (except GT3 991.2 and 991.1 RS were very close) So the best car I have driven for what I am looking for is the car I own, Ferrari 458 Italia! :)
2. Probably an old, very old Skoda, cannot remember was just a loaner, second close was a Renault Clio 1.2 thing, again loaner and worn out.
3. Peugeot 205 1.4XS
4. I'd say I own it, only dream I guess would be able to own the 458 along with a GT3 and a Performante along with say something like a RS6 Estate or something all at same time. :D
