A 1gb Sandisk Mini SD card (and another slightly larger grubby memory card), a little grubby but cleaned up now and the pins seem fine. Checking on the web it seems the same model costs £46.75.

Is it worth giving it to the police? It was there this morning and i only just picked it up, what uses these tiny cards?

Also, would it be wrong of me to look whats on it?

Digital camera's are quite popular uses for them, could have been a photographer out this morning and on his walk back dropped it??!

I am just speculating!

I would be inclined to say if there is nothing that would identify the owner on it just to keep them. Certainly if I lost a SD card I wouldn't go to the police to see if it's been handed in.

Certainly have a look on it to see if it has any pictures or could even have someone's uni work on it or something else important.

This year, when I got my new digital camera, I got a 16mb card with it. So I stuck the card in a 'pocket' in the camera case, and used a 256mb xD card.

When snapping some photos, I somehow lost that 16mb card. Okay, it was only 16mb, but I was still peeved. I don't think it had any photos on anyway. It could have been handy as a spare, though. :o

definitely keep it, as has been said the owner wont go to the police to look for it. look if there are any details on it, if not, enjoy :p

PS i need one for my old phone to use tomtom *hint hint*

Tom.

the legal term used is theft by finding, but its almost never bothered with for les than 500quid.

Tbh, unless you caqn find out the owner yourself, the police wont be too impressed with the time&paperwork youll be creating for them. They can hardly tell you off for it, but in this day and age when they dont even come out for a stolen car or a shoplifter in some cases, i cant see them ever being interested.

Dude, they won't go to the police looking for it.
Check it for info, if possible ring them/send it to them, if not, whack a poster up on a lamp post outside your house, they will claim it if they regually go that way, if not, how the hell would they ever get it back?
If they don't claim it after a month, eBay it or sell it, and give the money you sell it for to charity.
Ok?
