just found something strange.

i was just checking my temps and stuff on my gfx card and i was running furmark and softshadows and rthdribl and noticed that my core clock speed doesn't change, i checked it with 3dmark06 and it changes accordingly.

any idea why my clock speeds dont change when i start the 3 apps i mentioned?

im not sure, i never found anything on google but a thread about openGL lack of memory being allocated or something http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=279&threadid=108194

i thought it was just an openGL issue but rthdribl is DirectX 9, can someone else check these apps for me and check to see if your clocks are changing.

no-one else has the time to check if your gpu clocks change when you run one of the apps i mentioned in the first post?

my clocks change fine but then again im using a nvidia card now. i notice your using ati card, my x1900xt didnt go into 3d clock speeds using windowed 3d apps, i fixed that by modifying the bios though.

my x1950pro however doesnt have seperate 2d/3d speeds so its uneffected by the problem.

yeah i thought it was just becasue its windowed but i tried it full screen too and they dont change, my games run fine i just thought it strange that those apps dont make the clocks run at 3d speeds.

i was thinking that i should edit the bios too, all my other ati cards never had seperate speeds for some reason.
