that i dont think i should was going through the parents banking draw to get my new card out when i came accross a savings book for me from my parents. as am 21 in september i asume it would be for then ? but there is an awful lot of cash in the account do i be hounst and say i found it or do i just wait n act suprised on my bday ?

i dunno what to do dont want to be dishounst to them.

any ideas

I would act surprised, If it was me I wouldn't want to upset my mother.

My parents didn't have wads of cash to give me on my 21st, nor did I expect it. I've always had to earn my money so count yourself lucky.

52 inch plasma, your own accomodation, ladies, help a child in africa etc are just some of the options awaiting you. :p Seriously do what that guy above said (1st reply).

Do NOT say anything. If it is for you it's a huge surprise and you will upset them by spoiling it.

If it isn't for you... then just leave it.

haha! You won't get it. If your folks are like mine they won't give it to you until you are buying a house. It will be for the deposit. Folks for the win! :D

feel really guilty

Get a credit card and spend, Spend, SPEND!!! safe in the knowledge that you'll have the cash to cover it later on :D

dont feel guilty. they are doing what they want to do with their money. if they want to save it to help you onto the housing ladder or whatever else they have in mind then hats off to them. you should feel very lucky to have such great parents!

if you are working like that, then i am sure they are proud of you for doing so and understand if you get short tempered.

My parents use my old savings account for themselves as i dont use it. They can only get money out if i sign for it, that way it only gets used in emergencies.

Maybe its for them?
