Just got a PS3....

yes i know i am late to the game but i have swapped by xbox to a ps3.

What games would you guys suggest to get?

I currently have:

Killzone 2
Uncharted 2
Ressistance 3
Red Dead Redemption
NFL10
GT5

I was considering an NHL game and maybe an RPG?
 
With uncharted should i go and get number 1 then before i carry on playing number 2?

Seems uncharted and god of war are the main ones then that i have heard of. I will look into the others

What about Skyrim?

Also is it normal to take over an hour just to update a game when i first try and play it?

Why didnt you get Uncharted 1 first? bizarre lol and Resistance 1 and 2 too lol

Anyway just go for the PS3 exclusive games and you can't go wrong. No point in getting games that were on the 360 too as they, for the most part were always better on the 360 than the PS3

But as already stated get the Uncharted games, Resistance, Killzone and God of War 3. Id also look at Wipeout too thats a great game. Oh and the best PS3 game ever. Metal Gear Solid 4

This is one of the reasons why the PS3 sucks compared to the 360. Updates are ridiculous in size, take forever to download and install and in some games you have to download older pathes first so when Id bought Little Big Planet once it had to download and install 3 seperate patches before I could play.


Unfortunately the PS3 has major issues for me. I do love the games on both and I love both systems but my issues with the PS3 way out way the 360 issues.

Oooo talking of Little Big Planet get that. They are amazing games

haha, i borrowed uncharted 2 from a friend to see if i liked it. With Resistance i just saw 3 in the shop and knew it was the newest one so got it. I know thats a bit strange!

Is wipeout that good then? I remember it back in the day on psone i think it was?

Playstation Plus solves this though, sure its £40 a year but you get 45 free games and tons of other stuff. The auto update thing is brilliant, no more patches or system updates because it found and installed them all at 4am for you. Almost worth getting just for that feature alone.
 
Fallout series is worth a bash for RPG, if you don't want to see any rats or dwarfs.

You have the best game which I'd play immediately. Red Dead Redemption.
 
pay the £40 quid to join PS+ for a year and get the following great games (that you can use as long as you sub to PS+) for erm.... free.
Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light
Saints Row 2
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Darksiders
Renegade Ops
Outland
Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD
inFamous 2
Motorstorm Apocalypse
LittleBigPlanet 2

be warned though... these will take a long long time to download..
 
If you get plus, turn auto updates on.

Also if your happy with having your ps3 turn on for two hours through the night/early morning you can let the games download then rather than having to wait for the download to finish.
 
Another thumbs up for PSN+ much better value than XBOX Live imo and yes I do have both :)

you can set teh auto update option ...its in periods of 2 hrs
