Just got a Sabrent Rocket - very fancy case

I didn’t expect this - the drive came in a metal case with lovely fillings.

quite plush packaging. I do wonder if they used plastic would I have saved another £5-10 on the drive.

I was gonna use this to send out my old drive, but I am gonna be keeping that for now

There it is. Tho that photo is from a review site which doesn’t do it justice. My filler is black not that radiant blue.

tho been to plenty review sites about this drive but never actually paid attention to packaging section so this is a bit of a surprise.

I got a 2tb version of this drive last year (less than £200 :eek:

) and never had an issue with heat - that i know of

My recent mobo upgrade to a mag z490 has built in heat spreaders so i guess i'll never know if they heat up

And i got a fancy box like above

The sticker is a thin piece of aluminium acting as a heat spreader, I installed the QLC version (you still get a fancy box but it's plain aluminium and black foam) in a laptop just over 3 months ago where it's sitting on top of the wireless card and I haven't had any issues so far.

I got the 1TB version, very pleased and good value. One m.2 slot left out of three on MSI Unify so might get a 2TB on black friday.

I have been running the 1TB PCI 3.0 version for the best part of a year now and not had any issues with it at all. I kinda wish I got the 2TB version though.

No need for heatsinks, they run pretty cool.

No heating issues. If anything some times I get cold boot issue with SX8200pro. Yesterday morning was freezing in the room. Boot it up and computer says can’t find the boot drive. Waited a minute the. Reboot and it was all fine.

Picked another 2tb up yesterday from the jungle, £199.99

comes tomorrow.
Strangely said £50 of (was 249.99) and only 2 left, an hour later the same seller had more stock but at £229.99.

I'm not bothered either way as i paid £199.99.

Now, what junk can i fill it up with
