just got another sata

Right here we go

I installed a 200gb maxtor sata drive months ago on my abit kv8-max3 and it worked fine everything went ok i have it plugged into SATA1 no the motherboard..

now ive just got another sata drive a 300gb maxtor and ive plugged it into SATA3 on the motherboard, now it shows up in the raid bios bit on bootup but i cant do anything in windows to add it ??

any ideas??

Is that a separate SATA controller? If so then you might need to install the drivers for it. Otherwise you should be able to find it in Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Drive Management and format it from there

On your motherboard CD or on the Abit website you should be able to find SATA drivers if it is a secondary controller. Have you tried it on any other SATA ports?
