Just got Battlefield2 and WTF?

Sounds like your connection isn't up to it. BF is very bandwidth hungry particularly in 64 player maps.
My connection should okay? I get pings between 12-30 on most UK/European servers :(

I think I'm going to get 2GB RAM anyway - it won't be long before most games require it

SW.

I was suprised when I could run this game at 1280*1024 with everything on HIGH except for dynamic lighting. I get zero crashes, the games are laggy to start with but are near enough stutter free after about 30 seconds to a minute.

After reading some of the things in this thread I truly am grateful for the way it runs on my rig! :)

A64 3200 @ 2.4 on neo2
1GB ram
GF6800 Ultra with 81.98's

Indeed.... I had the same problem as you are having i thought it cant be my system specs... (i was on 1gb of RAM at the time) so i upgraded to 2gig of RAM, and it works perfectly full settings on 1024x768. No stutter at the start or loading new parts of the map. I bought some g.skill 3200 ZX, turned out faulty though (only would let my pc boot rarely). damn. But yeh the problem is most likely ram.

Hey guys, manually updating Punkbuster seem to cure the random crashes thing, but now I seem to be getting graphical corruption... Eventually leading to the game freezing :(

Every now and then the scenery will go black/blank etc? My settings are all medium and I've turned off all the settings with 'dynamic' in them?

In my case it must be the RAM, right

mine did that on my old system, putting some of the graphics down fixed it, i think it was textures.
