I installed my 8800gtx tonight and I'm clicking on the nvidia logo in the taskbar, the first time I do I get asked if I want advanced or standard settings, picked advance and then... nothing

nothing happens, unistalled, reinstalled, picked standard.. nothing...

no control panel pops up???

any ideas?

using 158.22 and xp32 btw

nothing...

just ran 3d mark 06 and is scored 11500 with a 3.2ghz c2d but obviously the card at stock (its not an overclocked model) so its obviously working properly but this is very weird.

any ideas?

Try removing them in control panel and then restart, booting into safe-mode. Run driver cleaner pro on "nvidia" and "nvidia wdm" filters. Then, double-check the previous directory is definately deleted. Run CCleaner to remove junk files and also run the regseeking part in CCleaner. (still in safe-mode btw). Then do a restart and boot back into safe-mode and install the 158.22 drivers again. Restart when it asks you back into Windows and see if that works.

Good luck! :)

its only gone and worked!!!

cheers buddy!

yep, only thing missing seems to be the option to have it boot with the options I've set but it hardly needs overclocking tbh so I'm happy enough.

There was a hell of a lot of stuff that CCleaner had issues with, seems to have sped up booting and everything, quite happy about that too ;)
