Just installed SSD, anyway to avoid having to re-install Origin games?

This might seem like a strange idea, but basically I've just installed an SSD and I want to install Battlefield 3, which is an Origin game, on that SSD, but I don't want to have to download it again because it's a 15Gb download and that will take me all night.

So is there any way to install that game on my SSD using the files that Origin originally downloaded onto my HDD? If so, can anyone tell me how I'd go about doing that?

If origin is anything like steam, you just copy the folder over to the new drive.

Oh really? That sounds like it could save me a lot of time.

So I would just install Origin on my SSD, then copy this folder from my HDD:

D\:Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\

Onto the Program Files (x86) folder on my SSD? Is it really that simple?

With steam you dont even have to reinstall steam, you just copy over the whole steam folder over then make a new short cut pointing to the steam.exe.

Or yes you can have x2 steam installed and just copy over the game files over.

I'ld be willing to go out on a limb and suggest it will be exactly the same for origin, hold on I'll do a super google :P

EDIT: Here, I think this should help you out :)

Can just start re-downloading the game through Origin (makes it create the directory). Then, pause the download and fully exit out of Origin. Go to where it made the directory and copy new contents in and load Origin back up and it should check folder and see everything its fully downloaded.

Can origin allow different titles to different drives? Steam can but it is complex, not an intuitive process. Is origin the same, if not watch where you start the installs else you could have a mess of a time in future.

Thanks for the help. Got it working now. I just installed Origin, moved the files over from the HDD, clicked 'Install' on BF3 in Origin and it did it's thing and now it works. Had to install Punkbuster again though.
