I installed my ocz vertex 2 120gb ssd yesterday, and set sata 1-3 to ACHI in the bios i was getting an ATAPI incompatible message.
After looping a couple of times windows(7 64Bit) would load and everything would work fine.
When restarting it would go through the same loop with ATAPI msg. so i went into the bios and changed back to IDE.
Still i got the ATAPI msg.
Went back to bios and changed the setting for the master sata control (i think that was the name) to auto, And all is now working and i have no ATAPI msg.
My problem is im still in IDE mode, and the ssd would work better in ACHI yes? If i go back and change it to ACHI will i mess it all up again, or was it the master not being set to auto that was causing the problem??
Sorry for my noob stupidity. Its a asus m4a79xtd mobo if i remember right.
