Just migrated from Nildram

Going to ring them shortly and find out whats happening and when they plan on fixing it

If not looks like a new ISP is in order, although IDNet have a pretty crap 30Gb cap :o

Zen are too expensive so not sure who the order of the day is....

:) I've never downloaded much really ... 30Gb will suit me fine, only ever download patches ... open source stuff, maybe stuff over Worldwind etc. :)

Well :) it was my mistake ... I had used Nildram for a long time before Pipex bought them out with no problems, both over 512kb and the 2mb offerings.

Now the other month I made the decision of going with Nildram, and paid for it ... as a long time user of Nildram before the Pipex buyout the service was phenomenal. However since re-ordering with them, they seem to have degraded somewhat

But, alls looking well, got our MAC today, ordered with IDNet and hopefully should be back up and running by 3rd August.

I really like Nildram, their support is very good, however the constant problem with pings is a huge problem for my housemate ... plus this problem has, by all accounts, been happening for a long time now.

Anyway, apologies for such a useless post

Vader mate I just changed to IDNet and I have never in my life seen customer service which comes close. The owner, Simon, was answering support emails at 10pm because of my problems with my BRAS profile!

Not only that but there's a lovely woman called Miriam who also answers emails within an hour or so and she also goes through hoops to solve any problem you may have.

Head over to their forum if you have any questions, you'll find that everyone is sickeningly happy there http://www.idnetters.idnet.co.uk/forums/index.php :D

Keeps the P2P whores away from the service, I love it. Cap is fine for me with my ~2MB speeds, and i'll never use 1GB every day of the month. ;)

Just switchd to IDNet ... only problem was the extraordinary long downtime ... Internet was down for 1 minute :( because I typed the login name wrong :) very impressed, all went swimmingly

IDNet is unbelieveably refreshing. The 30Gb cap only applies to downloads, and it's plenty enough for me.

I downloaded a couple of torrents, and I got a constant 500k download speed. I've never managed to make torrents max out my connection on other ISPs due to all the shaping.

Support is second to none as well.

Back to Nildram ;)

What are people’s torrent speeds like atm?

I'm getting very slow speeds, barely getting above 6kB/s

They're healthy, loads of peers etc?

I'm using Bitcomet 0.70 - with the encryption setting active :)

Any ideas...

...apart from joining IDNet :p

Cheers,

SW.

Just did a quick test here for you and running fine, getting 153k/s :)

Check you've got the right port forwarding setup as that could cause slow speeds
